Emotional Memories, article from the Mayo Clinic

Hi Everyone......a caregiver friend of mine sent along this link to an article on the Mayo Clinic website. One of the questions many caregivers ask me, is does my loved one with a neurological disease like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other dementias, understand who we are, what is happening, how to behave, etc.? So many times, we are surprised when a loved one dealing with these issues responds in a "normal" way. As we know, not everyone is the same, but this article talks about how there are so many things we do not know about what the loved one is comprehending or not. What do you think? If you have any stories about your loved one, please share them here. I'd like to know what other caregivers have experienced and think. Take care........Regina
